Forquarteringlargebodiesofarmedtroosamongus；

ForrotectingthembyamockTrialfromunishmentforanyMurderswhichtheyshouldcommitontheInhabitantsoftheseStates；

Forcuttingoffourtradewithallartsoftheworld；

Forimosingtaxesonuswithoutourconsent；

Forderivingusinmanycasesofthebenefitsoftrialbyjury；

Fortransortingusbeyondseastobetriedforretendedoffences；

ForabolishingthefreesystemofEnglishLawsinaneighboringProvince，establishingthereinanArbitrarygovernment，andenlargingitsBoundariessoastorenderitatonceanexamleandfitinstrumentforintroducingthesameabsoluteruleintothesecolonies；

Fortakingawayourcharters，abolishingourmostvaluableLawsandalteringfundamentallytheformsofourgovernments；

ForsusendingourownLegislatures，anddeclaringthemselvesinvestedwithowertolegislateforusinallcaseswhatsoever。

Hehasabdicatedgovernmentherebydeclaringusoutofhisrotectionandwagingwaragainstus。

Hehaslunderedourseas，ravagedourcoasts，burntourtowns，anddestroyedthelivesofoureole。

Heisatthistimetransortinglargearmiesofforeignmercenariestocomletetheworksofdeath，desolationandtyranny，alreadybegunwithcircumstancesofcrueltyanderfidyscarcelyaralleledinthemostbarbarousages，andtotallyunworthytheheadofacivilizednation。

HehasconstrainedourfellowCitizenstakencativeonthehighseastobearArmsagainsttheircountry，tobecometheexecutionersoftheirfriendsandBrethren，ortofallthemselvesbytheirhands。

Ineverystageoftheseoressionswehaveetitionedforredressinthemosthumbleterms。Ourreeatedetitionshavebeenansweredonlybyreeatedinjury。Arince，whosecharacteristhusmarkedbyeveryactwhichmaydefineatyrant，isunfittobetherulerofafreeeole。

NorhavewebeenwantinginattentionstoourBritishbrethren。

Wehavewarnedthemfromtimetotimeofattemtsbytheirlegislaturetoextendanunwarrantablejurisdictionoverus。

Wehaveremindedthemofthecircumstancesofouremigrationandsettlementhere。

Wehaveaealedtotheirnativejusticeandmagnanimity，andwehaveconjuredthembythetiesofourcommonkindredtodisavowtheseusurations，whichwouldinevitablyinterrutourconnectionsandcorresondence。

Theytoohavebeendeaftothevoiceofjusticeandofconsanguinity。Wemust，therefore，acquiesceinthenecessity，whichdenouncesourSearation，andholdthem，asweholdtherestofmankind，EnemiesinWar，inPeaceFriends。

We，therefore，thereresentativesoftheUnitedStatesofAmerica，inGeneralCongress，Assembled，aealingtothesuremejudgeoftheworldfortherectitudeofourintentions，do，inthename，andbytheauthorityofthegoodeoleofthesecolonies，solemnlyublishanddeclare。Thattheseunitedcoloniesare，andofrightoughttobefreeandindeendentstates；thattheyareabsolvedfromallAllegiancetotheBritishcrown，andthatalloliticalconnectionbetweenthemandtheStateofGreatBritainisandoughttobetotallydissolved；andthatasfreeandindeendentstates，theyhavefullowertolevywar，concludePeace，contractalliances，establishCommerce，andtodoallotherActsandThingswhichindeendentstatesmayofrightdo。

AndforthesuortofthisDeclaration，withafirmrelianceontherotectionofdivinerovidence，wemutuallyledgetoeachotherourlives，ourfortunesandoursacredhonor。
